Dr Angeli’ s involvement in healthcare, commenced with the deployment and optimisation of imaging protocols for classical and advanced diagnostic imaging. Since then, he has been involved in the development and management of quality, information security systems in healthcare and the optimisation of operations using digital transformation; while acting as a project manager for such transformations.
Currently Dr Angeli is employed as a Medical Physicist at a private medical diagnostic center in Cyprus, while being involved in the research activities of The Cancer Biophysics Laboratory and the Computational Science Laboratory of the University of Cyprus. He had been a guest lecturer at Intercollege, the University of Cyprus and the University of Nicosia.
Dr Angeli has authored 12 journal and conference publications, one book chapter and co-authored numerous other articles, with topics covering, inter alia development of algebraic reconstruction algorithms, design and simulation of MR insert coils, study of the cardiac mechanics in-vivo using MRI/in-vitro and lastly and brain and tumour mechanics along with modelling of the human lung airway.
Dr. Angeli received his Physics bachelor’s degree in 2008 from the University of Athens with specialization in Nuclear Physics. In 2009 he received his MSc in Biomedical Engineering with Medical Physics from the Imperial College London. He was awarded a PhD in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in 2017 from the University of Cyprus for his work on the mechanics of the brain in pathological conditions. He is member of the Cyprus Medical Physicists Association.
